Meet the Groomsmen

Joel VanderPol - Best Man
I met Joel early on in high school and it didn’t take long to realize he was my best man. Countless hours of playing catch until our arms were numb has led to the best friendship I could ask for. There aren’t many people that know more about me than Joel, some of which we’re trying to forget. I was lucky enough to stand next to him at his wedding recently and I am looking forward to having him next to me in September.

Jordan Howe
Jordan is my not-so-little little brother. I have always said that he would never be taller than me, but he’s definitely threatening that. As typical brothers, we had our fair share of “disagreements”, but there’s nothing that can separate brothers. He recently graduated from the Police Academy in Lee County, and I couldn’t be a prouder big brother.

Roderick Blevins
Rod was my first roommate in college and also my right back in soccer. After knowing him for just a couple days, he threatened the life of the University of Tennessee kicker for missing a kick and I knew we would get along just fine. Rod made my transition into college as easy as I could imagine and since then he remains one of my closest friends. He was always supportive of Nicole and me early on and I am very excited to have him there next to us on our big day.

Larry Lollar
I met Larry during my senior season of high school soccer. After getting a red card in a game, he quickly became my goalkeeping predecessor and our friendship began. After losing touch for a couple years, we now coach together and our goalkeeper’s union remains stronger than ever.

Nathan Clarke
Nicole’s younger brother is a gentle giant and has welcomed into the family better than I could ever ask. After mercilessly beating me in Super Smash Bros. several times on my first Clarke family vacation, he’s been great to hang out with whenever we are together.
